Choosing where to stay in Rome can be overwhelming. The city is filled with iconic luxury hotels, charming boutique properties, and historic palaces that have welcomed travelers for centuries. After all, this is one of the world's most visited destinations, where nearly every neighborhood offers something unique.
This summer, we took an unforgettable trip to Italy. Starting in Rome and then exploring the Amalfi Coast and Sardinia. For our quick trip to Rome, we wanted a hotel that balanced luxury with convenience. It is not everyday you go to Rome so picking the right location and property was important. We wanted a place that felt like a true escape after long days exploring the Eternal City while still being close to Rome's most famous attractions.
After spending several nights at Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel, I can confidently say it delivered exactly that.
From its historic architecture and spacious rooms to its rooftop pool, Michelin-starred dining, and exceptional service, this five-star hotel became much more than just a place to sleep. It became one of the highlights of our time in Italy.
If you're wondering whether Anantara Palazzo Naiadi is worth the splurge, here's everything you should know before booking.

Why Choose Anantara Palazzo Naiadi
Location is one of the most important factors when finidng the right hotel for your trip to Rome. You want to be within walking distance of the city's major attractions while avoiding the busiest tourist areas where hotels can feel crowded and hectic. Anantara Palazzo Naiadi checked every box.
Located on Piazza della Repubblica, the hotel occupies a beautifully restored historic palace built atop the ancient Baths of Diocletian. While the property feels grand and elegant, it's also surprisingly practical. Roma Termini Station is just a short walk away, making airport transfers and train travel throughout Italy incredibly convenient.
Throughout our stay, we found ourselves walking almost everywhere. The Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Colosseum, and countless cafés and restaurants were all easily accessible without relying on taxis.
For first-time visitors especially, it's an excellent home base for exploring Rome.

A Grand First Impression
The moment we stepped into the lobby, it was clear this wasn't an ordinary hotel.
Massive marble columns, soaring ceilings, and elegant architectural details immediately create a sense of arrival. Despite the grandeur, the atmosphere never feels stuffy or intimidating. Instead, the staff welcomes you with genuine warmth, making the check-in process smooth and relaxed.
That balance between historic elegance and modern hospitality became a consistent theme throughout our stay.

Spacious Rooms That Feel Like a Retreat
One thing that surprised us most was the size of our room. European city hotel, especially in historic building, often have limited space, but the Junior Suite with Piazza View was overwhelmingly spacious.
Large windows overlooked Piazza della Repubblica, filling the room with natural light each morning. The sitting area made it easy to relax between sightseeing excursions, while the marble bathroom, complete with both a soaking tub and rain shower, quickly became one of our favorite places to unwind after long days on our feet.
Additional touches like the espresso machine, luxurious bath amenities, plush king bed, and impressive soundproofing made the room feel every bit as luxurious as you'd expect from a five-star property.
If you're celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or milestone birthday, I'd strongly recommend upgrading to a suite. The extra space noticeably enhances the experience.

The Rooftop Pool Is a Hidden Gem
One feature that immediately sets Anantara Palazzo Naiadi apart from many other luxury hotels in Rome is its rooftop pool.
Pools are surprisingly uncommon among hotels in Rome's historic center, making this a genuine luxury after spending the day walking through the city's cobblestone streets.
Relaxing on the rooftop with panoramic views over the city became part of our afternoon routine whenever we returned to the hotel before dinner. It's the perfect place to cool off during Rome's warmer months and adds another layer of exclusivity to the property.
Dining That Exceeded Every Expectation
I expected the hotel to have a good breakfast but it quickly become one of the highlights of the entire trip. Every morning began with an expansive breakfast buffet featuring a huge array of fresh pastries (be sure to try the famous local Roman pastry), Italian cheeses, seasonal fruit, smoked fish, made-to-order egg dishes, fresh juices, sushi, and of course outstanding espresso. Although, they admitantly have not figured out the iced coffee situation in Europe. The live pianist added an elegant touch that made breakfast feel like an experience rather than simply another meal.

Seen by Olivier
The hotel also offers multiple dining venues throughout the day, including the rooftop restaurant Seen by Olivier, which is ideal for sunset cocktails overlooking Rome.
Ineo
The true standout, however, was INEO, the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant.
Choosing the tasting menu with the wine pairing turned out to be one of the best decisions we made during our stay. Every course demonstrated remarkable creativity, impeccable technique, and beautiful presentation without ever sacrificing flavor.
If you're staying at Anantara, I highly recommend reserving a table for an unforgettable meal and evening.

Wellness After a Day of Exploring
Rome is a city best explored on foot, and by the end of each day, we had often logged well over 20,000 steps.
Having access to both the hotel's spa and fitness center made returning to the property feel like a reward in itself.
The spa offers a peaceful environment complete with wellness facilities and treatments designed to help guests recharge, while the fitness center is far more comprehensive than many European hotel gyms, with modern cardio equipment, free weights, and strength-training machines.
Whether you're looking to keep up your workout routine or simply relax before dinner, the wellness amenities complement the overall luxury experience beautifully.

Between the prime location, spacious accommodations, rooftop pool, exceptional breakfast, Michelin-starred dining, wellness facilities, and genuinely outstanding service, Anantara Palazzo Naiadi offers an experience that feels worthy of its price point.
Rather than simply booking a hotel, you're investing in a property that becomes part of your Roman vacation.
